Who is eligible to submit videos?

Any K-12 teacher of a K-12 student (known as the “sponsor”) must submit videos on behalf of their students.

What are the requirements for the video?

Videos should answer the question " How does your local economy impact the global economy?” in 60 seconds or less. No student participants should name themselves or other student participants in the video.

When are video entries due?

All entries are due for submission by 11:59 p.m. EST on October 19, 2025.

How many videos may each sponsor submit?

A sponsor may submit as many videos as they’d like.

Can more than one student be in a video?

Yes. Videos may include one, two, or three students.

What format should I submit my videos in?

Videos must be submitted as a YouTube link on the Entry Form. You can learn how to upload a video to YouTube here. Videos may be uploaded as unlisted videos if you don’t want them to be viewed by the public. Winning videos must be sent to CEE as an MP4 file and will be shared publicly.

What happens once a video is submitted?

CEE will review all videos submitted to make sure that content is appropriate.

How many winning videos will there be?

For the Economists’ Choice, there will be one winner chosen in each of the following grade bands: K-4; 5-8; 9-12. Economists’ Choice Winners will receive a cash prize. Economists’ Choice Winners will be announced on November 1, 2025.

There will also be up to four student winners in high school or middle school selected as the International Winners. The International Winners will win round-trip flights from New York City to Tokyo and 4 nights accommodation to join the Tokyo Award Ceremony on December 14, 2025.

What are the prizes for the winners?

Economists’ Choice Prizes: one winner will be chosen in each of the following grade bands: K-4; 5-8; 9-12.

  • Winning teachers will each receive: $500 in Amex gift cards for classroom use.

  • Each student in the winning video will receive a $100 Amex gift card.

International Winner Prize: up to three middle school or high school students:

  • Will receive a free trip to Tokyo, Japan to celebrate their win with CEE Japan video contest winners.

  • Will win round-trip flights from New York City to Toyko and 4 nights accommodation to join the CEE Japan-hosted Tokyo Award Ceremony on December 14, 2025. To accept the International Winner Prize, the student must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid passport.

If I am selected as an International Winner, can my family join me in Japan?

A winning student’s parent or guardian may accompany the child at their own expense.
